Childhood[]
Uinniau's early life was spent training in Ireland. He was sent to Candida Casa toward the end of his studies, where he worked under Maucennus.
Career[]
Uinniau was the man who converted many of the Picts. He is also known for several events in his life. He requested aid from Gildas in the form of a letter. He influenced a synod that sent Columba to Scotland instead of excommunicating him. He invited Gildas to Britain to help reorganize the church in Columba's absence. He chose David over Cadoc and Gildas for the archbishopric of the Britons.
Personality[]
A pioneering spirit with the awareness to realize he was in over his head, he had no trouble asking the most famous religious man in Britain for help. He also did not hesitate to throw his opinion out, seeing Columba as a great asset to the church and seeing his situation in Ireland as an opportunity for Scotland.
