Little is directly known of Thynoy's early life, though as the daughter of Lleudun King of Din Peledyr she would have lived in the fortress with access to all of the silver, copper, and jewelry that he captured and purchased.
In the wake of the chaos caused by Camboglanna (517), Thynoy was found with her maidens and raped by a Pictish raiding party. Lleudun eventually learned the identity of her rapist and punished them, but she punished as well.
Her father never forgave her, however. Well along in her pregnancy she was sentenced to be thrown off the mountain. Her brother, Cynan Colledawc, switched her with a wagon full of stones and pig's blood at dusk and personally whisked her away to safety.
Thynoy gave birth to a son, Kentigern, who eventually made his way to [[Strat Clut[[. It is not known whether or not she survived that long or if she came with him.
Thynoy is a simple person. She accepted death at her father's hands and life again from her brother. After that she found a reason for existence in her son.
