Dubricius was the illegitimate son of Efrddyl daughter of Peibio. Peibio attempted to kill her, but she somehow survived and gave birth to Dubricius. Legend has it that the boy cured his father of leprosy when he touched him, thus reconciling the three.
Dubricius is only known as one of the many wandering bishops of sixth-century Britain, though he is always treated as the oldest and wisest of the group. He is known to have taken part in the educations of many of the next generation's most prominent ecclesiastics; among them Gildas, Teilo, and Samson. Common history holds him to have been an archbishop.
Dubricius is known to have been a venerable old man who was skilled at healing. He was one of those few people who was an excellent mentor.
