The cauldron was a basic fertility symbol


The cauldron was at the center of the fertility rites, along with nine women and the one man.


The cauldron was associated with birth, rebirth, bringing the dead to life, and cornucopia. The most generous of Welsh kings was said to be have owned a cauldron that could create anything he wished for.
