A carpenter referred to any person who worked with wood for a living.
- Buildings: An individual capable of building and maintaining any number of structures.
- Furniture Builder: A builder of chairs, tables, and utensils.
- Shipbuilder: A person capable of designing and building the basic cwrygl or larger ships.
The nature of farming was that there were down times, so that it is likely most farmers were capable of carpentry on some level. That also meant that most of the items a carpenter could build were not in high demand and did not pay too well. Only a person capable of building ships might have been able to making a living at the profession.
