As the center of monastic movement in Britain, Calchvynedd has its kings but they are embroiled in to many wars to be concerned about internal matters.


One of the few highly Romanized areas in Britain to retain their independence, southern Wales maintained its position as the home of Latin learning and Roman culture in general well into the post-Roman period.
