He grew up in the Ulster household, raised with the royal family and training side by side with their children, utterly loyal to them. As he neared adulthood, he found himself most strongly attracted to Fiachna It was not for his charisma, however, but because of his integrity.

Aengus was involved in nearly every activity his lord participated in, though because of Fiachna's standing and personality, it consisted mainly of diplomatic errands within the Ireland. In 486, he accompanied Fiachna to Britain, where he was stabbed with a dinner knife.
Healed by one of Ceredig's doctors, Aengus' usefulness, life expectancy, and whereabouts are unknown.
